Happy Kids with Books

School Age Program

Looking for after school care? Check out our various school-age programs.

We have created a safe environment for children ages 5-12 years old, to discover who they are and what they are interested in.  We provide opportunities for them to explore with hands-on, inquiry-based learning activities such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), where they can engage in dramatic play and discover and construct imaginary worlds with various materials available as well as through the creative arts.

We encourage the development of social skills by allowing children to make choices, work with others and take on responsibility within our program.

Our school-age programs have grown tremendously over the last few years!

We offer on-site after school care for Grove, Northpoint, Towanda and Colene Hoose Elementary Schools and provide transportation between those schools and our center on Woodbine Road.

We also operate the after school programs off-site at Pepper Ridge, Hudson and Benjamin Elementary Schools.

On-site School Age After School Program

The After School program at Scribbles Center for Learning, Inc. offers children the opportunity to socialize with peers, eat a nutritious snack, and complete homework with teacher assistance as needed.   We provide a balance of fine and gross motor activities, and a play-based curriculum with an emphasis on the project approach.

The School Age classrooms are two open, spacious areas where children kindergarten through fifth grade can play and learn all year long! These classrooms feature a quiet reading area, table space for homework/studying, art and craft areas, as well as a Wii console and oversized projection screen.

Each classroom also has direct access to their own playground specifically designed for children ages 5-12 featuring a basketball court, four-square courts, climbing equipment, and lots of space to run around!  We also have access to the center’s gross-motor room with its very own rock wall!

After School Care is available onsite at Scribbles for students from Towanda, Grove, Northpoint, and Colene Hoose Elementary Schools.  Students will be bussed from their school to Scribbles at 1415 Woodbine Rd.
