Dr. Erika and Andrew Hunt- Owners/Operators
Dr. Erika and Andrew Hunt envisioned a meticulously-designed, loving, educational, and flexible care environment when creating the vision for Scribbles Center For Learning, Inc. After much best practice research, personal experience, and professional guidance, Scribbles Center For Learning, Inc. opened to the community in January of 2008. Prior to working in early education, Andy worked at State Farm Insurance in Bloomington. He studied both computer science and education and has a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University. Andy is a state certified youth soccer coach and enjoys coaching youth soccer at a local soccer club in town.
Erika continues to work in the College of Education at Illinois State University. Erika, who has a Ph.D. in education administration and policy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has a passion for children and her work entails research and advocacy for strengthening education. Prior to working at Illinois State University, Erika worked for Governor Jim Edgar and for two state agencies. Andy and Erika have two children who both attend the School Age Program and have enjoyed getting to know all of the parents and children who have become the Scribbles Family!
Miss Leanne - Director
Mrs. Leanne Macrowski has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from St. Xavier University in Chicago, IL. She received her Level 2 Infant/Toddler Credential, Level 5 ECE Credential, Level 5 School Age Credential, and currently holds a Level 2 Director Credential.
Prior to joining the Scribbles team, she worked at the Early Childhood Development Center at the University of Notre Dame as a lead preschool teacher and has taught first grade at Lake Bluff Elementary School in Lake Bluff, IL. Leanne and her husband have two children.
Director of School Age
Audriana attended Illinois State University where she graduated with a Degree in Human Development. She joined Scribbles in 2013 as our School Age Site Supervisor, and is now the School Age Assistant Director, where she oversees both the programs at the center and offsite. She received her ECE Level 4 Credential. Audriana previously worked with school age children before coming to Scribbles. Audriana and her husband have one son and one daughter.
Asst. Director of Child Development
Emily graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a concentration in Special Education. She has over 6 years experience working with children from ages birth to 5. Four of those years were spent teaching in a school in Hawaii. Emily earned her ECE Level 5 Credential. Previously, she was the lead teacher in our PreK 3 room. Emily has been with Scribbles since2014. Emily and her husband have two daughters.
Assistant Director of School Age
Allyson graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management. She has earned a School Age Level 5 credential. Allyson joined the Scribbles Team in 2012 as a School Age Lead Teacher. She is currently the School Age Supervisor, overseeing our after school programs at Benjamin Elementary, Pepper Ridge Elementary, and at the center. She is also in charge of staff scheduling. Allyson and her husband have two sons and a daughter.
Tammie graduated from Loyola University in Chicago in 1998 with a Bachelors in Science of Education.
She has mostly taught preschool and kindergarten but has also taught infants, 3rd grade and 5th grade. Previously, Tammie was the owner and operator of her own childcare service. She loves to around the world and has been to many countries. Tammie volunteers at Midwest Food Bank , BCAI dance school and Wedrose Animal Sanctuary. Tammie is currently the Lead Teacher in our Infant 1 classroom
Angela graduated with a Masters Degree from ISU. Her focus is on communication and adaptive techniques for children who have extra needs. She has taught in Elementary and middle schools around central Illinois as well as working at Country Companies for 13 years. Angela has been a part of the Eastview Food Pantry and has painted murals for the Crisis Nursery in Champaign, IL. Angela joined Scribbles in 2017 as a full time sub, and is currently the assistant teacher in the Infant 1 and Infant 2 classrooms.
Elizabeth received her Associates in Arts from Heartland College. She went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, Human Development from Illinois State. Elizabeth has over 5 years experience in childcare working with children ranging in ages from infant to school age. She is actively involved with both the adult and children's choir at her church. Elizabeth joined Scribbles in 2016 first as the assistant in Toddler 1 and is currently the assistant teacher in the Infant 2 classroom.
Jordin is working towards her degree attending both Heartland Community College and Illinois State University. She has over 3 years experience working in the Early Childhood Education field, including children with special needs. Jordin likes to volunteer her time coaching softball for the local youth. She joined Scribbles in 2019 as an assistant teacher. She is currently the lead teacher in the Toddler 1 classroom.
Angel Graduated from York College in York, NE with an Associates in the Arts. Angel also attended Eastern Illinois University and Parkland College to continue her education focusing on Special Education speech Pathology. Angel has served as a Director for TPMHMR assisting children with special needs as well as serving as Assistant Director for 3 yrs. Angel has been a teacher working in early childhood for the past 15 yrs. Angel and her husband have three children. Angel is the Lead teacher for the Toddler2 classroom.
Audrey received her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Illinois State University in 2007. Previously, she was a swim instructor for children and adults. She has many years experience volunteering and mentoring young children in educational settings. In 2003, she traveled to Nambia, Africa to work with children from that region. Audrey joined Scribbles in 2020 and is the assistant teacher in our Toddler 1 classroom.
Nanci received her Degree from Spoon River College. She earned her ECE Level 3 Credential. Nanci has over 13 years experience working in the Early Childhood Education field. Nanci joined Scribbles in 2010. She has worked in the Infant classroom and is currently an assistant teacher in the Toddler 2 Classroom.
Emma has completed her Associates of the Arts degree with a focus in Early Childhood Education. She is currently attending ISU to complete her BA in Early Childhood Education. Emma has previously worked with toddler age children and has completed Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discipline training. She has been a volunteer for the ISU and St Patty's Day parades. Emma joined Scribbles is 2019 and is the Lead Teacher in our Young Preschool classroom.
Dani attended Blackburn College and received her Associates in Early Childhood Education from Heartland Community College. She has over 10 years experience working with children from infants to preschool. Dani joined Scribbles in 2011, as an assistant teacher in the Two's and PreK 1 Room. She is currently the Lead Teacher in our Prek2 classroom. Dani has one daughter and one son.
Regina graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She has over 17 years experience teaching in Bloomington. She has taught 3rd, 4th and, 5th grade most recently, but has experience in all age groups. Regina joined Scribbles in 2019 and is the Lead Teacher in the Prek 3 classroom. She has 2 children.
Miss Ashley D.
Ashley received her degree in Social Work from Illinois State University. She joined Scribbles in 2014 first as a full time sub, then as an assistant teacher in Toddlers. She is currently the assistant teacher in our Prek 3 classroom.
Selena received her Associates Degree from Southern New Hampshire University. She has previous experience working with children while coaching basketball & volleyball. Selena likes to volunteer her time at camps and reffing basketball games. Selena joined Scribbles in 2019 and is the assistant teacher in PreK 4.
Jerilyn received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from ISU. She has also taken classes in Early Childhood Education from Heartland. Jerilyn has over 23 years of experience working in childcare and preschool environments. She has worked with all ages with a primary focus on 3-5 year olds. Jerilyn joined Scribbles in 2018 and is currently a full time sub working in all classrooms.
Evy earned her Bachelors of Science in Interpersonal Communications. She is also attending Phoenix University, taking classes in Early Childhood Education. Evy likes to volunteer her time raising money for the Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington. She also volunteers for Wishbone walking dogs. Evy has experience working in the Chicago Park District during their summer camps, as well as the town of Normal parks and rec summer camp. Evy joined Scribbles in 2019 first as an after school teacher. She is currently a full time sub working in all rooms.
Bailey attended ISU as well as Parkland college and is working to complete her degree in Business. She worked for the Champaign Park District for over 8 years where she worked with children as a swim instructor, as well as the Director of the After School Program. Bailey has a passion for teaching swim lessons to children and has her Certified Pool Operators license. Bailey joined Scribbles in 2017 and is currently the Lead teacher in our After School Program at Pepper Ridge.
Abby received her Associates of Fine Arts from Joliet Junior College with a focus on technical theater. She currently attends Illinois State University where she will earn her Bachelors Degree in secondary English education with an endorsement in theater education. Abby worked in Cooperstown, New York at The Glimmerglass Festival for two years as the Box Office Supervisor overlooking VIP relations. Abby joined Scribbles in 2018 and is the Lead teacher at our After School Program at Benjamin.
Asst. Director of Business Management
Kensey graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences and a minor in business. She has been an assistant teacher in both Infant and Toddler rooms and a lead teacher in a Two’s classroom. Kensey is currently the Assistant Director of Business Management overseeing the billing and marketing departments as well as spending time in classrooms. Kensey and her husband have one son.
Melinda received her Associates degree in Elementary Education from Illinois Central College. She also received a certificate of completion for Sign Language Interpreter Preparation. She has been a member of S.I.G.N (Sign language Interpreters Growth Network) since 2014 and was the President from 2015-2016. She has experience working with children from birth to 3rd grade teaching Sunday School. Melinda previously worked at the Grand Canyon! Melinda joined Scribbles in 2016 and is currently an assistant teacher in our Infant classrooms. Melinda has 2 sons.
Natalie earned her Associates of General Studies as well her CDA in Infant/Toddler Development. She has previous experience with children ages 6 weeks to high school age. She has been working in the Early Childhood Education field for 15 years and is passionate about watching the growth of children and connecting with families. Natalie has also volunteered much of her time working with children at homeless shelters. Natalie joined Scribbles in 2019 and is currently an assistant teacher in our Toddler 2 classroom. She has 2 daughters.
Susie attended Eastern Illinois University and earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Heartland College. She earned her ECE Level 3 Credential as well. She has been with Scribbles since 2009. Susie first worked as an assistant preschool teacher and is now the Lead teacher in our PK 1 Room. Susie and her husband have 2 children.
Taylor graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Degree in Child & Family Studies. She has previously worked with infant & toddler age children. Taylor joined Scribbles in 2014, and is an assistant teacher in our PreK 2 Room.
Kelly graduated from Kankakee Community College in 2005 with an Associates in Business Administration in Child Development. She has an ECE Level 4 Credential and her Infant/Toddler Level 4 Credential. She has been with Scribbles since 2011 beginning in the Toddler 1 Room. She is a member of the McLean County Association for the Education of Young Children (MCAEYC). She is a volunteer firefighter/first responder for the Ellsworth Fire Department. Kelly and her husband have one child. Miss Kelly is the lead teacher in our Prek 4 Classroom.
Miss Ashley L.
Ashley is currently attending Heartland Community College to complete her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has spent time working with special needs high school students. Ashley also has experience working with children ages birth to school age in various capacities during her high school and college careers. Ashley joined Scribbles in 2019 and is currently a full time sub working in all classrooms.
Miss Emily B
Emily graduated from Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville in 2015 with her bachelor’s in Elementary Education. She has been a substitute teacher for Unit 5 and District 87. Emily has experience with children ages birth to twelve years. She joined Scribbles in 2018 becoming the Fit Kids Instructor and is currently a lead teacher in School Age.
Kaitlin received her Bachelors in Liberal Arts and Science from the University of Illinois. She has previous experience working with preschool children, while attending school. She volunteers her time coaching bowling to young children. Kaitlin joined Scribbles in 2020 and is currently a full time sub working in all classrooms.
