Penny earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Western Illinois University where she graduated with honors. While living in the Chicago area, Penny taught Language Arts and Literature at the middle school level before taking a break from education to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. She spent several years as production associate and personal assistant to feature film writer, director, producer, John Hughes. Though she spends most of her time at the front desk at Scribbles as Office Manager, she also enjoys substituting for teachers and helping out in the classrooms when needed. Penny and her husband, Chad, have two children.
Kensey graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. She has been an assistant teacher in our Toddler room and is currently the lead teacher in our Two’s Room.
Valerie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University in 2007. While at ISU, Valerie worked as a Student Office Assistant and gained field experience at Sheridan and Glenn Elementary Schools in Bloomington/Normal. Valerie has nearly ten years experience as a Vacation Bible School teacher and nursery caregiver at Eastview Christian Church. Valerie is the lead teacher in Pre-K 3.
Susie attended Eastern Illinois University where she majored in Elementary Education. She recently earned her AA degree in Early Childhood Education from Heartland Community College. She has several years of experience as a preschool teacher as well as an assistant teacher in a two’s classroom. Susie and her husband have two children. Susie is currently the lead teacher in the Pre-K 1 Classroom at Scribbles.
Becky earned her BA degree in English at the University of Illinois Springfield. She has been the lead infant teacher in a childcare facility for over ten years! Becky and her husband have two children. She currently assists in both of our Infant Rooms.
Dani earned her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Heartland Community College. She has over eight years of experience teaching in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. Dani is an assistant teacher in the Pre K 1 classroom at Scribbles.
Nanci earned her Associates Degree from Spoon River College where she focused in Childcare and Development. Nanci has over nine years experience as a lead teacher in a childcare center and is currently an assistant teacher in the Two’s Classroom at Scribbles.
Erin graduated from ISU with a B.S. in Psychology focusing in the area of Child and Family Development. She has several years of experience as an Infant/Toddler teacher and preschool teacher. She has helped out in all classrooms at Scribbles and is currently an assistant teacher in Infant 2.
Jennifer holds a BS degree in Education from ISU with a concentration in Early Childhood and an endorsement in Psychology. She has experience with all age/grade levels and has served as an assistant director in a childcare facility. She is active in her church where she serves as a CCD/Religious Education teacher. Jennifer and her husband have four children and she enjoys being a Cub Scout Leader. Jennifer is the lead teacher in our Infant 1 Room.
Stephanie has worked at Scribbles since 2009 and has assisted in all of our classrooms. She has attended Heartland Community College where she focused her studies in Early Childhood Education. She is currently an assistant teacher in our Infant 1 classroom.
Missy earned her Associates Degree from JolietJunior College. She has over 11 years experience as a home day care provider. Missy also has experience as both a lead teacher and a director within a childcare center facility. Missy is currently the lead teacher in the Infant 2 Room at Scribbles. Missy and her husband have a daughter in college and a teenage son.
Cassaundra is a graduate of Illinois State University where she earned her BS degree in Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, specializing in Spanish. She has worked in childcare since 2007. Miss Cassaundra is currently an assistant teacher in our Toddler Room.
Miss Brooke earned her degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Illinois State University and has experience as a teacher and teacher’s assistant in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. Brooke and her husband have two children. She is currently an assistant teacher in our Pre-K 2 Classroom.
Miss Judith earned an AA in Arts from Heartland Community College and holds a Level IV Certificate in Early Childhood Education. She has worked as a nanny and childcare provider for over 7 years. Judith is a volunteer at Home Sweet Home Mission, Eastview Christian Church, and Eastland Chiropractic and Wellness Center. She recently completed a mission trip to Haiti! Judith is an assistant teacher in the Toddler Room.
Kelly earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration and Child Development from KankakeeCommunity College. She has several years of experience as a nanny and as a two’s teacher in a childcare center. She currently serves as a volunteer fire fighter for the Ellsworth Fire Department. Kelly is the lead teacher in the Toddler Room at Scribbles.
Miss Nicole earned her BS in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and holds endorsements in math, reading, language arts, and social sciences. She has experience as a tutor and classroom teacher in District 87. Nicole is the assistant teacher in our PK 3 classroom.
Cassie is a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has experience as a substitute teacher in Pre-K through 4th grades and has also worked in special education classrooms as a substitute teacher. Cassie has served as a teacher’s assistant in a kindergarten classroom and is currently the lead teacher in our Pre-K 2 Classroom.
Kim graduated from ISU with a BS in Human and Educational Services with a focus in special education. Kim is the lead teacher in our Before and After School Program and is one of our Child Development Specialists.
Chica earned her Associates in Fine Arts-Music from Oakton Community College and her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts-Music from ISU and has most recently worked as a violin teacher for an outreach program within the Chicago Public School System. Chica assists as a sub in all classrooms at Scribbles.
Adrienne is a licensed Occupational Therapist and assists our Child Development Specialists. She also spends part of her day assisting teachers with classroom duties and helping with lunch service throughout the center.
Sarah is a marketing major at ISU. She is the billing assistant at Scribbles and assists with other administrative duties.
